Salute To Veterans

Car & Motorcycle Poker Run!

August 14th 2021, 9:00AM – 3:00PM

Poker Run Starts in

Good Afternoon Veterans Car/Motorcycle Show friends

I hope this finds you all well!

First, I would like to thank you for being a part of the Veterans Show to help support our local veterans in need. Some of you have been with me since 2012! We have now raised over a quarter million dollars all for the veterans!

And Counting

I have been in close contact with the Hillsboro Fair Complex director about our August 14th Show….No reservations are being taken yet and when/if they do, we could only have a whopping 300 people in attendance! That would cover a few cars/motorcycles and a couple of volunteers! No food trucks, use of only 75% of the area, no vendors, no raffle, no speakers, etc., and we would have to hire social distancing monitors to a tune of $29/hr. each for 9 hours and on and on….Very Very sad. I know how we are all itching to get our cars out, have some fun and support our local veterans in need!

SO…We are putting on a POKER RUN. We will keep you informed here and Also via Email. It will be on August 14th and be a 100 miles or so (?), a $20 fee, have 5 stops, and end up at a restaurant or large parking lot. I think it will be a fun day for all. There will be a couple of winner’s prizes – best and worst hands (?), and our usual printed shop towel and a printed mug would be handed out. We may sell our 2022 Calendar, Tee Shirts, mugs, and a few large raffle items, and the funds raised would support the Oregon Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Veterans Village for homeless veterans.

(By the way, the van we/you purchased for the Veterans Village in 2019 was one of the best things that happened for them. They use it every day to transport veterans to appointments and to pick up food etc.) The funds raised this year will go to a few smaller projects in order to spread it around.

Our Shirts this year are focused around the stars and stripes! Order yours when you register for the Poker Run!

Please Email Lynn  with a yes, maybe, or no thank you.

Take Care,
Lynn Kirwan
